Are you for or against wearing masks?

Image
The debate around masking reveals divisions in our society. For some, masks limit personal freedoms. Others see them as a minor inconvenience that can protect the vulnerable. Though uncomfortable, masks primarily prevent us from unknowingly spreading COVID through droplets when talking, coughing, or sneezing. Ultimately, masking is a personal choice. But it allows us to take responsibility for not infecting others, especially as many carry COVID while asymptomatic. Wearing masks is not about fear, but care for our community. When infection rates rise, our health systems and economy suffer. Rather than mandate masks, we could appeal to people's sense of service to adopt this simple act of kindness. If protecting each other is not incentive enough, consider the hardship when jobs and lives are lost. A small discomfort on our part can prevent immense suffering for others. I choose to wear a mask in public spaces not out of fear, but in order not to spread the illness to others when I

Gratitude Diary Day 49: Good weekend

This weekend I'm grateful for a lovely walk with an old friend. We caught up while reminiscing about the past. How do you spend your time in lockdown?

Image
During the lockdown, I found myself doing something that I had never done before- watching other people play games. It turned out to be an unexpected source of entertainment and a great way to enjoy the latest games and their captivating storylines without investing all the time to play them myself. With the advent of PlayStation 5, the graphics and visuals of the games are stunning, almost akin to films. Witnessing these games in motion, some of them rendering jaw-dropping graphics and visuals, is an experience that is nothing short of mesmerizing. Today, on day 42 of my gratitude diary, I want to express my gratitude towards all the creative game developers and YouTubers who have kept us entertained and company throughout the extended period of lockdown. It might seem like a unique and unusual industry, but the content they provide has been a source of joy and entertainment to many, incuding me. #GratitudeChallenge #GratitudeDiary Are you curious about all the hype about AI?  Try Jas

Traffic Light

Image
Gratitude Diary  Day 41:  Today, I took the initiative to report some traffic light issues in my local area to the relevant authority. It felt good to be able to contribute to ensuring safer roads for everyone. The process was made easy as the website was user-friendly, but I do think that the local council should promote this service more to the public. It's possible that some people aren't aware of this service, and the issues could have been reported far earlier if more people were aware. Despite this, I am grateful to the engineers who will be fixing the problems. It's reassuring to know that they are working hard to resolve these issues that have been present for several months. #GratitudeDiary #GratitudeChallenge   Two months later: I just noticed the lights are now working again. 👍   Are you curious about all the hype about AI?  Try Jasper writing assistant today for free .

Gratitude Diary Day 40

Gratitude Diary Day 40: It's been quite some time since I've had lunch at work. While it may seem like a small indulgence, having lunch prepared for you every now and then is a delightful pleasure. I'm grateful for those rare days when I can enjoy a hot meal without having to worry about preparing it myself. #GratitudeDiary #GratitudeChallenge   Are you curious about all the hype about AI?   Try Jasper writing assistant today for free .

Telemedicine

Gratitude Diary  Day 39:  Despite my recent efforts to address my ear issues, it seems that the problem persists. However, contacting my GP through email proved to be a swift and efficient method of communication. Within a mere couple of hours, they had replied with helpful suggestions. In fact, I found the subsequent phone consultation to be markedly more efficient than any consultations I had prior to the pandemic. I'm grateful for the prompt response from my GP, as the peace of mind it provided was invaluable. #GratitudeDiary #GratitudeChallenge ********* Monday.com  is a powerful and versatile platform that can help you work smarter and improve productivity. Amazon refund and A-Z guarantee

Image
Amazon's A-Z guarantee for refunds is undeniably exceptional. Their policy has always ensured that I receive a full refund when any problem arises in my order. This guarantee provides a sense of assurance and trust, making it easier to order from Amazon. Recently, I received another refund due to an item not being delivered before the refund request. Although the object eventually arrived a few weeks after, it was too heavy and expensive for me to return. Amazon approved my refund request and advised me to keep the item. However, despite their policy, I can't help but feel guilty about keeping the item after being refunded. Gratitude Diary Day 37: The result is not 100% satisfactory, but I am glad the issue was finally resolved. Say what you want about the dominance of online platforms; I wondered if I would have got my money back if this had happened 20 years ago and if I ordered this item from a high street shop. I am grateful for the refund from Amazon. Are you curious about

Gratitude Diary Day 36: Serviced offices

Image
We recently moved into a new office block. The exterior and the offices look rather impressive. But, unfortunately, the support offered by the staff could be better. There is little training for the team, and although they are usually polite, they are generally unable to resolve any problems in the building. It's a real shame to see a listed company operating this way. Why can't our customer service in the UK be more like Japan? Gratitude Diary Day 36: I am grateful for the sunny day and nice view to work today. And I am glad that today's hard work went smoothly. ********* Monday.com  is a powerful and versatile platform that can help you work smarter and improve productivity. Gratitude Diary Day 35: A new neighbour moved in next door a few weeks ago. Very grateful that they seem to be the quiet type other than the occasional DIY. Gratitude Diary Day 34

Image
There is nothing quite like a lifelong friend who truly knows you. Old friends have seen it all - the laughs, the tears, the ups and downs over countless years. They understand you like few others can. An enduring bond shaped by shared experiences, challenges overcome, and memories made. There is comfort in having someone by your side who knew you way back when. A special camaraderie emerges between people who have walked together down the winding road of life. Despite time passed and distance between, true friends can always pick up right where they left off. I'm grateful for the rare connections that pass the test of time. Old friends are to be treasured for they know and cherish your story like no other. Gratitude diary Day 34: I consider myself fortunate to have people in my life whom I have known for more than 20 years. And it's pure joy to get to catch up with one of them in person from time to time. Thanks for a visit, old friend. ********* Monday.com  is a p

Gratitude Diary Day 33

Recently, I endured temporary hearing loss in one ear. Though concerning, I'm grateful my hearing has since been restored. This experience gave me newfound appreciation for the gift of sound. We seldom notice how multidimensional our aural landscape is—the nuances, tones, and layers in everything we hear. Losing even a portion of that richness felt jarringly flat and imbalanced. Now with full hearing returned, mundane sounds feel vivid and textured once more. I delight in the melodies, chatter, and laughter that fill my day. Even simple moments like wind whispering through trees or rain pattering on the roof are beautifully complex. I'm reminded how precious it is to enjoy this sensory world most take for granted. May we never overlook the symphony of life continuously playing all around us. #GratitudeDiary #GeatitudeChallenge ********* Monday.com  is a powerful and versatile platform that can help you work smarter and improve productivity. Gratitude Diary Day 31

Image
Day 31: The laminate floor design I was looking to purchase is no longer available. It's disappointing, but not much can be done about it. I have to pick another design. Life is not perfect. It's better to find happiness in the options that are available to us. I am grateful for the lesson.  #GratitudeDiary #Gratitutde Challenge ********* Monday.com  is a powerful and versatile platform that can help you work smarter and improve productivity.
