From Game to Reality: The Astonishing Visuals of the Latest Games
I've been uploading more videos to YouTube lately, primarily featuring scenes from Marvel's Spider-Man. This game was originally released about five years ago, but its graphics have recently been upgraded in the Remastered version for the PS5. I'm genuinely amazed by the number of comments from non-gamers who thought the videos were made with real actors. Hundreds of people were shocked to discover that it was all computer-generated graphics. I have to repeatedly reassure people that this was not real!
This reaction highlights the incredible advances in gaming graphics, especially with technologies like ray tracing.
Although Marvel's Spider-Man uses Insomniac Games' proprietary engine and not the Unreal Engine, The potential of Unreal Engine 5 is truly ground-breaking. With its Nanite virtualized geometry technology, it allows for incredibly detailed environments without sacrificing performance. Lumen, its fully dynamic global illumination system, enables realistic lighting that adapts in real-time to changes in the scene. These advancements mean that future games will offer unprecedented levels of realism and immersion, pushing the boundaries of what we currently perceive as possible in gaming.
Sharing these videos with a wider audience has been a lot of fun. For gamers, I hope it reignites your interest in playing these slightly older but still fantastic games. For non-gamers, I'm glad it has shown you what the latest graphics can achieve. And it's only going to look more realistic from here.
