Not in Pursuit of Happiness

There is only doing what is needed..

I recently watched this inspiring and thought-provoking YouTube clip about the laws of attraction. I wanted to note down a few points of what I learned after listening to this brief exchange. Of course, these are just my notes, and they are not advice for anyone else. You should listen to the conversation and take from it what is useful to you.

The video is in English, and the channel added Chinese subtitles to try and reach a wider audience.

Laws of attraction
Not quite, but you can determine your destiny - you will likely get closer to what you set your mind to do.

However, things may not always turn out as hoped. Even if you get 90% of what you wanted, most people will still focus on the missing 10% and suffer for it.

You are part of the universe
That was an interesting moment in the conversation- to realise you are a part of the universe, not outside it or having to attract it. You are it, one and the same.

We cannot control all external forces
We can only control ourselves, not others. Since we cannot control every external force, we may not always get what we want. But we do control how we interpret each experience.

Live Blissfully, Regardless
We should live blissfully no matter which direction life takes us. Then, none of it matters. Whether people like that article we wrote or that YouTube or TikTok video we shared - none of it matters if we train to live blissfully regardless.

Do What is Needed
With this attitude, we are no longer trying to bend our environment and the universe to our liking just to feel happy. We can focus on doing what is needed (whether you are a mother, a teacher, a healer, a leader, a so etc), live a fulfilling blissful life, instead of endlessly pursuing the illusion of happiness or some life purpose which is ultimately a mental construct that do not exist outside your own head.

Did you learn anything else or get any other inspirations from it?
