Samsung S7 not recognised by computer

For some reason my phone would not connect to one particular laptop but would connect without any issues to other computers. If you have the same problem then try the steps below to see if it works for you as well.

1. First I tried to install the USB driver on the computer. You can download the driver here: https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows

Still did not connect.

2. Tried to install SmartSwitch which is a Samsung software for managing and transferring files from your phone. You can download this from here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/smart-switch

Still nothing happened.


3. Restart the computer. This is a very important step.
You should get a message whether you want to allow the PC to access your phone once you rebooted the computer.
