How to Setup Google Calendar on Your iPhone

Somehow, over the past couple of years, I've ended up owning more smartphone devices than I really need. At the time of writing this post, I owned 1 iPhone, 1 iPad, 1 Android phone, and 1 Android tablet (I have since given some of them to family members). Most of these were gifts or upgrades from my existing phone contracts and didn't really cost me anything.

As the year draws to a close, it's usually the time when I take a walk to the town center, visit my local stationary shop, and find myself a good diary for the next year. I would then head home, with a cup of tea, and start transferring information from my current diary to the new one. However, this year, I have not yet bought my new diary. Looking at my gadgets across the table, I realize it may be time to embrace the electronic calendar and make it accessible across all the different devices I own.

Google Calendar came to mind right away. I prefer apps that allow seamless access with just about any device connected to the Internet these days. Plus, Google commercials are always so cheerful!
I have found some really good instructions (from http://michaelhyatt.com/) showing you how to set up Google Calendar on your iPhone (easy steps and it works!). Click on the image below to head to the page.

Now, back to my 2013 planning...

Backup your calendar
That's it. In case something goes wrong, I would also keep a backup copy of the calendar regularly just in case. To backup your calendar, go to My Calendars > Settings > Export Calendars. You can then import the calendar if you ever need to recover it.
